Community Contributions Guidance

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

1 Thessalonians 5:11
Upper Swaledale

As believers we are called to care for each other, to encourage and build up each other, to teach, comfort, stir up, and to pray for each other. We are also called to use the gifts we have been given for the benefit of each other. If your gift is poetry or prose, prayers or reflections, writing or painting then maybe you might be willing to share it with others through our Community Contributions.

Since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you…

Colossians 1:9

We do not want to be too prescriptive or restrictive in any guidance given to contributors, however, it is important to have some idea about what we hope for.

The idea for “Community Contributions” is to offer a platform for others to share something inspiring, encouraging, and faith-building, with the people who connect with Dales Faith. It is important that whatever is shared should be something original to you (you have written or created it yourself), that points to Jesus, and gives glory to God. If the piece is of a personal devotional nature that is great, otherwise a connection with the area in and around the North Yorkshire Dales is important too, as this area is the focus of our ministry. We do understand that deciding to share something that you hold dear with others requires an amount of courage, however, please be reassured that those who connect with this ministry online really value and appreciate the sharing of personal experiences and the encouragement it brings.

We hope that these contributions will take whatever form/style/format that you, the contributor, are inspired to use. This can include, written, graphical or musical content, such as prayers, poems, reflections, letters, blogs, journalistic reports, photos, drawings, cartoons, paintings, songs, music, and more.

A written reflection or similar, should be somewhere between 300 and 800 words long. However, if you have said whatever you are called to share in fewer words then this is always a good place to stop writing! If it is a little longer, we still may be able to post it. If you have something graphical to offer then the image must be of a high quality (1920 x 1080 pixels min). Please chat with me if you have any questions. All content is posted with an image of the contributor(s) in the graphic that accompanies the post, so again a high-quality image of yourself is welcomed.

We do have a YouTube channel and a Spotify podcast, so video and/or audio recordings of written or musical contributions are appreciated. Though not professionally produced, I am keen that all Dales Faith content is of a sufficiently high standard that the quality of sound or image does not detract from the message, so again please contact me to chat further about this if you have any questions.

If you have something that you would like to share, please get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
